The farmhouse's location, relatively close to the M6 motorway, makes it well suited for short breaks no matter where in the country you'll be coming from. The small village of Newby Bridge takes its name from the five arched stone bridge built in 1651 over the River Leven. The famous Furness Railway, one of Britain's oldest working standard gauge steam railways, runs between Haverthwaite and Newby Bridge.
