Situated in the small, rural village of Great Strickland in the Eden Valley, just 2 miles from the Lake District National Park and 6 miles from Ullswater.
It benefits from easy access to the M6, peaceful country lanes for cycling and walking on the Lakeland Fells or Pennine Hills. There is a village pub serving food, 100 yards from the house, with excellent amenities in Penrith just 5 miles.

Lovely lodge - spacious accommodation and well maintained- fond memories of the site parents owned a caravan back in the 80’s set in the lovely village of Great Strickland - pity about the village pub closing ! Everything you could want to have a peaceful holiday in the Lakes and they also allow well behaved dogs which is a bonus .

My friends and I had an amazing stay in the oaklands lodge. Would 100% recommend. The only thing that could’ve made it better would be an information booklet in the property about the surrounding area including pubs etc., a visitors book is also always a nice touch.

Lovely place to visit the Lake District, Lowther inn only a short drive away, lovely food and dog friendly, highly recommended.
