The main shower room serves the king-size bedroom, offering guests plenty of space to prepare for the day. Climb the stairs to find the spacious open-plan living area, which is sure to become the social point of the property, with feature A-frame beams and tiled floors, this is a lovely space to gather each evening and reflect on the day’s events. A well-equipped kitchen provides all the necessary appliances and cooking utensils to whip up a hearty feast, while the sitting area is complemented with two sofas and a TV for entertainment. French doors lead out to the patio area, complete with a set of tables and chairs where you can sit back and admire the views of open farmland and moor covered hills within the distance.

Outdoor activity can be enjoyed from the door with the beauty of Aira Force waterfall just around the corner, as well as activities at nearby Rookin Hall where you can have a go at sailing, canoeing, archery and horse riding. For a gentler option, perhaps take a cruise on Ullswater Lake, or head out of the district to the charming neighbouring town of Penrith, home to a small selection of independent shops and a supermarket for picking up any essentials. Further afield, head south to the popular tourist locations of Ambleside, Bowness and Windermere, packed with family attractions, eateries and plenty of unique shops worth browsing.

The bustling market town of Penrith, once the capital of Cumbria, enjoys a central position between the Lake District and North Pennines and is ideally placed for taking in all that the region has to offer. Renowned for its wealth of specialist shops, the sandstone buildings of Penrith hide intriguing yards, lanes and alleyways, with a myriad of attractive cottages, gardens and little shops. With a wide choice of excellent pubs, hotels, restaurants and entertainment, Penrith also offers a museum, and Millennium Trails round the historic city streets. Within easy reach of the town is Rheged – an innovative visitor centre with shops, restaurants, exhibitions and a giant cinema screen showing educational and informative films. Brougham Castle (The Windsor of the North), Long Meg and her daughters (the 3rd largest stone circle in England) and the historic city of Carlisle are all a short drive away, as is the stunning scenery of both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales.
