Mary Meadows Barn is a lovely, detached barn conversion nestled within the peaceful hamlet of Dockray, only one and half miles from the beautiful Ullswater Lake. Well placed to enjoy walks from the door, including nearby Aira Force, the property is suitable for families or couples wanting to explore the delights of the Lake District, with easy access to the charming villages of Watermillock and Pooley Bridge. You enter Mary Meadows Barn into a tiled hallway which leads off to the bedrooms, both of which are placed on the ground-floor making them suitable for those with limited mobility. The bedrooms include a king-size and twin bed with an en-suite shower, furnished in neutral colours and housing ample storage for all your walking gear.
The main shower room serves the king-size bedroom, offering guests plenty of space to prepare for the day. Climb the stairs to find the spacious open-plan living area, which is sure to become the social point of the property, with feature A-frame beams and tiled floors, this is a lovely space to gather each evening and reflect on the day’s events. A well-equipped kitchen provides all the necessary appliances and cooking utensils to whip up a hearty feast, while the sitting area is complemented with two sofas and a TV for entertainment. French doors lead out to the patio area, complete with a set of tables and chairs where you can sit back and admire the views of open farmland and moor covered hills within the distance.

Renowned for its wealth of specialist shops, the sandstone buildings of Penrith hide intriguing yards, lanes and alleyways, with a myriad of attractive cottages, gardens and little shops. With a wide choice of excellent pubs, hotels, restaurants and entertainment, Penrith also offers a museum, and Millennium Trails round the historic city streets. Within easy reach of the town is Rheged – an innovative visitor centre with shops, restaurants, exhibitions and a giant cinema screen showing educational and informative films. Brougham Castle (The Windsor of the North), Long Meg and her daughters (the 3rd largest stone circle in England) and the historic city of Carlisle are all a short drive away, as is the stunning scenery of both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales.
