Perfectly positioned high up, looking over Glenridding and Ullswater with walks to Red Tarn and Helvellyn from the front door.. 1 step to entrance.

High Rake is the perfect base for those looking to enjoy an all-action holiday, or equally to relax in the peace and quiet that such an area can offer. With the Ullswater stream running past on its journey from Red Tarn, surrounded with amazing views onto Sheffield Pike and Birkhouse Moor and with Helvellyn in the distance, there really isn’t a cottage like this. A traditional stone cottage nestled into the Fell side above Glenridding, standing in a short row of cottages, this comfortably furnished and cosy cottage enjoys spectacular views. The property sleeps four guests in two bedrooms and a family bathroom.

The cottage is located centrally in the Lake District National Park and a unesco World Heritage Site. There is superb walking from the doorstep, water sports are available in the village, and a cruise on the famous Ullswater steamer to Pooley Bridge or Aira Force is a must. A spectacular drive over nearby Kirkstone Pass drops down into Windermere and Ambleside making this an excellent central holiday location.

    De High Rake cottage ligt op een geweldige locatie met een prachtig uitzicht. Wel even omhooglopen naar de voordeur. Er is een eigen parkeerplaats. Pub en kleine winkels in het dorp zijn perfect. Huisje biedt alles wat je nodig hebt: keuken, woonkamer met prettige meubels, een slaapkamer met heerlijk bed en garderobekast en ten slotte een badkamer met douche in bad, een wastafel en een toilet. Bij mooi weer is er een terras voor het huisje. Neem je wandelschoenen mee en je kunt er onvergetelijke wandelingen maken!

    Could do with more toiletries and soap shower gel etc but overall a lovely place to stay and perfect location for many good hikes

    The cottage is in a fantastic location with a lot of walks on the doorstep. The village is nearby with a pub and shops. There are great views from the cottage and it was nice to sit outside in the sunshine.
