The shepherds hut is absolutely amazing, a lovely bespoke design and it has everything you could need! It is an excellent location and the hosts are very happy to give recommendations of nice places to go and explore! Gowan bank farm is a lovely place to stay, when we stayed there was baby lambs and we saw one that had just been born, we were also invited to say hello to the baby chicks that had just hatched! The hosts were so lovely and had left us some lovely treats to enjoy after a very long journey! We absolutely loved waking up every morning to the cows in the field close by and the chicken roaming around. Would absolutely not hesitate to go again and have already recommended the farm to all my friends!

Lovely peaceful stay at the Shepherds Hut at Gowan Bank Farm. The Hut has everything you need and was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting outdoors by the stream watching the lambs and sheep in the field across from the hut. We also loved waking up to chickens right outside the door! The location is great as it’s away from the crowds, but still only a short walk from the pub and shop and a five minute drive from Windermere. The hosts are very welcoming and live on the farm and gave us some great recommendations for things to do in the local area. Couldn’t recommend this stay enough!
