Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness, modern decor, and thoughtful touches such as wine and chocolates. While there are minor maintenance issues and initial heating concerns, the overall experience is positive with many looking forward to returning.
Most guests find the cottage spotless and well-maintained, though a few noted areas needing attention, such as dirty cookware and smeary glass surfaces. The high standard of cleanliness is acknowledged, with only occasional lapses mentioned.
The cottage's central location is consistently lauded, offering easy access to shops, restaurants, and hiking trails. Its convenience and quietness, despite being in the town centre, are frequently highlighted as major positives.

The property is well-equipped with high-quality kitchenware and comfortable living spaces. Some guests experienced minor maintenance issues such as non-working hand showers and a leaky shower, but these do not detract significantly from the overall positive feedback.
Many guests express gratitude for the thoughtful gestures like welcome wine and chocolates. However, it's important to note that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed and may vary with each stay.
This charming cottage is located in a fantastic position on Compston Road, just a stone's throw away from the historic town centre of Ambleside which is situated at the head of Lake Windermere. Just perfect for those looking to explore the Lake District whatever the occasion or time of year. Completely renovated from the ground up, this property has been decorated to an incredible standard creating a holiday home of the highest quality and presented in calm neutral tones. The inviting oak front door leads you into the hallway where lovely Victorian hooks offer the perfect spot for coats and scarves. Oak floors run throughout the ground floor and lead you into the open plan living and dining room, with its large comfortable sofas, inviting wood burner and solid oak dining table - this is the perfect spot for socialising or just relaxing when the evenings draw in.
Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
