Snaptrip says

Kirkstone Cottage in Cumbria & The Lake District receives high praise for its stunning views, cleanliness, and prime location for walking and exploring local attractions. Guests appreciate the well-stocked kitchen, cosy atmosphere, and comfortable bed, though some mention low ceilings and a need for minor maintenance. The property's peaceful setting and thoughtful touches, such as complimentary items, contribute to a delightful stay.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Most guests found the cottage to be clean and well-maintained, with only a few isolated reports of cleanliness issues. The majority of reviews reflect a high standard of cleanliness, contributing to a positive experience.

The location is consistently praised for its beautiful views, tranquillity, and proximity to walking routes and local attractions. Its setting in the Lake District makes it an ideal base for exploring the surrounding countryside.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, particularly noting the cosy bed and living space. However, some guests mention low ceilings in the bedroom and bathroom, which could be a minor inconvenience for taller individuals.

The cottage is well-equipped with high-quality appliances and a wood burner, though there are comments about the need for more cutlery and crockery, and minor maintenance issues like a blocked shower drain and loose toilet seat. The lack of a reliable Wi-Fi connection is also noted.

While some guests mention thoughtful touches like complimentary fudge and dishwasher tablets, there is not enough consistent information about gifts or additional thoughtful provisions to accurately score this category. It should be noted that such complimentary items are not guaranteed.

Very comfortable accommodation with all of the facilities you may need. Highlight of our visit was Blackwell House!!

  • Nicola

    We couldn’t fault it.

Well cleaned & generally well equipped - including TV & log burner. Good location - great views, nice walks from cottage, peaceful. Cons :( Low beams in bedroom & bathroom mean banging head if you're the average height of a British man or taller (5ft10). Christmas Decorations still up in late January. No bin bags or dish cloths. Nearby pub (Outgate Inn) has closed.
