We are thrilled to offer this idyllically located, lavishly furnished and generously proportioned property for four people. Situated just outside Ambleside with breathtaking views of Lake Windermere and surrounding mountains and yet within walking distance of the village. The house (all except the Amdega conservatory) dates back to 1840 and is full of character and is one of three properties converted from a previous Country House Hotel, but has been redesigned for the 21st century and much use has been made of Laura Ashley fabrics and furnishings.
The semi-detached house is of an open plan design consisting of a fully equipped kitchen and spacious living room, with a fantastic conservatory featuring the dining area, and two delightful en-suite bedrooms with wonderful views across the valley towards Wansfell Pike. Immediately outside the house is a lovely patio complete with garden furniture, and benefiting from stunning views. The garden then slopes away from the house down a meandering lawn with mature borders to the ’secret’ garden which is a beautifully sheltered sun trap.
The central location of the house to the Lake District makes it easy to access the many and varied attractions the Lake District offers. Footpaths begin right on the doorstep. Hathererthwaite railway from the end of Windermere, cycle hire in Ambleside, Theatre in Keswick and three cinemas in Ambleside. Boat rides, go ape. Hire boats. Lake museum and cafe in Lake Windermere. Ulswater boat tours, Aria falls - Conniston water land speed record museum. M6 makes travelling around the Lake District easy or you can take the scenic route along the coast.
Fellmere is a truly impressive holiday home where every thought has gone into the comfort and enjoyment of the guests who stay there.

As a family we had a fantastic holiday at Fellmere, enjoyed the views and the cottage had everything needed to enable you to feel comfortable and a home away from home. Slight issue with the boiler needing to be reset regularly but this did not affect our experience at all, just worth a mention.The location is brilliant and a great base for trips anywhere in the lakes, we would definitely recommend Felmere and will be coming back next time we visit the Lake District.
