A stunning maisonette set over two floors with views towards Helm Crag in the village of Grasmere in Cumbria. The central location, wonderful living facilities, en-suite facilities, stylish and well-equipped kitchen and stunning views make this is the perfect cottage for a group of friends to come and explore what the Lake District has to offer. Grasmere is in the Lake District National Park, best known as the home of William Wordsworth, he once described it as "the most loveliest spot that man hath found". A visit to Grasmere needs to include The Grasmere Gingerbread shop which has been making gingerbread for over 60 years. There is also shops, pubs, a 13th century church and Grasmere Lake, plus Grasmere Sports takes place every August. 5 miles away is Ambleside and Lake Winderemere where you will find shops, pubs, restaurants and the 17th century Bridge House, one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District. Cruises, boat trips and watersports can all be enjoyed on Lake Windermere and the towns of Windermere and Keswick are also within driving distance. Grasmere is a wonderful base for your Lake District retreat.

Also on arrival the key wasnât in the box, however the people below found it in their box, so that too was sorted quickly. The place was excellent, great facilities and rooms. We loved it! The only small critique was that the heating was cool and we were unable to adjust it, that needs sorting. Finally, can you ask the maintenance to use WD40 on the bathroom door handle in the first bedroom on the left at the top of the stairs as it squeaks. Thanks, we would come back again, it was in a brilliant position and very comfortable.

The facilities are comprehensive, the kitchen newly refurbished, and wifi functions well. Two parking permits are a great bonus. This was our 5th time in Baker's Rest. We will certainly be back, if possible.

Overall very comfortable. Despite Grasmere being a tourist hot-spot in August the location of the house means you are away from the crowds, but only 5 minutes walk to the village centre, and being over the 2nd and 3rd floor you get a good view from the window without people being able to see in to the house.
