Guests say

This charming Ambleside cottage is praised for its excellent central location, spacious and comfortable interiors, and lovely views. Guests appreciate the cleanliness and the secure garden, making it ideal for families and dog owners. While parking can be challenging at busy times, the provided permit is helpful. Some minor maintenance issues and kitchen equipment suggestions were noted, but overall, guests found the property welcoming and would happily return.

Most guests found the cottage very clean and well-presented, with only rare mentions of minor cleaning oversights such as a mouldy freezer or dirty rags.

The location is consistently highlighted as a major strength, being central, close to shops, restaurants, and walks, with beautiful views.

Guests frequently mention spacious, comfortable bedrooms and living areas, though a few noted the house could be chilly on arrival or that radiators were very hot.

Facilities are generally good, with spacious rooms, a secure garden, and two bathrooms. Some guests suggested improvements such as more kitchen equipment, clearer instructions, and better parking arrangements.

While guests appreciated the parking permit and some thoughtful touches, there were comments about the lack of a welcome pack or starter logs. Please note that gifts or welcome packs are not guaranteed.

There are two potential problems with this property. The first is that it's on a hill, which means a short steep climb whenever you arrive at the cottage. Although it is the Lake District so this shouldn't be surprising. The second problem is car parking. The street parking outside the property is on a first come, first served basis, and most of the time there is no parking available. Fortunately, a business parking permit is supplied for the main public car park, which is nearby. Unfortunately, because Ambleside is so popular nowadays, the car park is usually full between about 11am and 3pm, and sometimes longer at weekends, leaving you with nowhere to park within reasonable walking distance of the cottage. I don't think anything can be done about this; it's just that Ambleside wasn't built for cars! Otherwise I have no complaints about the property at all.

Great weekend lovely accommodation, will definitely return. Only down fall and nothing to do with owners but the parking in the lake District streets.

We have been coming to this cottage since 2012 only missing a couple of years. The only drawback now we are older is the handrail on the stairs, which ends before the bottom two handholds on the doorframe would solve this problem.
