A comfortable and cosy terraced stone cottage, superbly located in the South Lakeland village of Lindale on the edge of the Lake District. Well appointed to provide welcoming accommodation, this Lindale cottage is ideal for families or friends who wish to enjoy time together exploring the beautiful Lake District. The open plan living accommodation in this Lindale cottage has been divided using ships' timbers and has an original stone flag floor with a woodburning stove and leather sofas, a perfect place to relax after a long day. Outside this Lindale cottage is a small front patio whilst the village has a shop and two excellent pubs. There is plenty to do in the area, with excellent walks from the doorstep or around Lake Windermere, numerous golf courses, and the elegant town of Grange-over-Sands, with plenty of excellent tea rooms, specialist food shops and a promenade. Within 30 minutes' drive of this Lindale cottage is the South Lakes Wild Animal Park, the Haverthwaite and Lakeside Steam Railway, and the Aquarium of the Lakes. From Lakeside you can embark on the Windermere Steamer and enjoy the spectacular scenery whilst cruising up Lake Windermere to the bustling towns of Bowness-on-Windermere and Ambleside. This Lindale cottage is a perfect base at any time of the year.

there were a couple of problems, we couldn't use the fire( which we were informed about), the bathroom was downstairs which wouldn't have been a problem but I have a mobility problem and I found getting downstairs was difficult as there was no banister to help me. I had to go down on my bum. Also the key box was hard to find and as it was dark when we arrived we couldn't see the code numbers, we didn't have a torch. It's a great property for younger people but not us pensioners.

Exactly what we were after - comfortable, convenient and with character. The owner kindly contacted us in advance to provide some useful details. We are a family of four and stayed with two kids (14 and 10), and the place was perfect for us. Well-equipped kitchen, fireplace, nicely set up living room, no issues with heating so we were warm, everything worked well. It is in a nice village with a pub and easy to get to around Lake District, whilst also very easy to travel back especially if you are coming from the South. We loved it and would stay again.

Yes, it's small, but that adds to the charm and it's a perfect size for a couple, or family with 2 small children. The property was very clean, and the owners provided detailed instructions on everything, from central heating to local facilities. It's in a good location for the southern Lakes, so much to do in the area - we may well book again!
