Guests say

Rowlandson Ground Cottage is praised for its beautiful, peaceful location and well-maintained gardens. Guests appreciate the proximity to Coniston and local attractions, as well as the helpfulness of the hosts. While some minor issues with comfort and facilities are noted, the overall experience is seen as cosy and relaxing, with many expressing a desire to return.

The cottage is generally described as clean and tidy. One guest mentioned a dust allergy being triggered, but this seems to be an isolated incident rather than a common concern.

The location is highly regarded for its tranquillity, scenic surroundings, and accessibility to Coniston and other Lake District areas. Guests enjoy the walks and proximity to local amenities.

Comfort receives mixed reviews. Guests love the cosy atmosphere and log fire, but some mention issues with creaky beds, a cold interior, and a cramped kitchen. The overall sentiment remains positive.

Facilities are adequate, with some guests facing challenges such as poor Wi-Fi, low shower pressure, and a cramped kitchen. However, the presence of a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable rooms is noted.

While guests find the hosts welcoming and thoughtful, there are no specific mentions of gifts. Therefore, it is not possible to assess the thoughtfulness based on gifts, and the score is set to null.

Beautiful, peaceful spot in magnificent garden setting. We were caught out when we discovered the day before our arrival that no towels are provided.

Set in beautiful grounds and gardens, extremely peaceful. Good location for Coniston, Hawkshead, Ambleside and surrounding area. You can walk from the cottage to Coniston itself via footpath, or it is a five minute drive where there are some good pubs. Hosts live in attached house and are welcoming and helpful.
