southern Lake District National Park, Bracken Ground is a

private luxury retreat for up to ten guests, created for

families and friends to gather, reconnect and unwind.

Entirely private and never overlooked, the retreat combines

beautifully considered interiors with a remarkable natural

setting. Wander woodland trails, relax beside the large

beck-fed pond, in the cedar barrel sauna or hot tub, and

enjoy long evenings around the outdoor kitchen with its

Weber barbecue and wood-fired pizza oven.

Just minutes from Coniston Water, Grizedale Forest and

Hawkshead, Bracken Ground offers the rare luxury of

complete seclusion within easy reach of the Lake District’s

most iconic landscapes.

A place to gather, Bracken Ground has been thoughtfully designed to bring

people together while giving everyone space to unwind.

Five beautifully appointed bedrooms sleep up to ten guests,

with many enjoying peaceful views across the gardens,

woodland and beck. Comfortable mattresses, quality linens

and calming interiors create restful spaces for deep sleep

and slow mornings.

At the heart of the retreat, the open-plan lounge and dining

area, centred around the warmth of the Morsø woodburning

stove, flows effortlessly onto the terrace, creating a

natural space to gather throughout the seasons. A separate

snug with Smart TV offers a quiet retreat, while the

spacious kitchen, with breakfast bar overlooking the pond

and visiting wildlife, is fully equipped for everything from

relaxed breakfasts to memorable family feasts.

The family bathroom provides a peaceful sanctuary with a

deep bath and woodland-inspired touches, while the

welcoming entrance hall doubles as a practical boot room

with guest essentials and carefully curated local

recommendations to help you make the most of your stay.

Rooted in nature, Bracken Ground is more than somewhere to stay, it's a landscape cared for with a long-term commitment to

regeneration, biodiversity and conservation. Red squirrels,

native birds and woodland wildlife thrive here, while guests

are invited to slow down, reconnect with nature and leave

inspired by this remarkable place.

As evening falls, some of England’s darkest skies provide

an unforgettable backdrop, with shooting stars and the

Milky Way often visible from the hot tub, sun deck and

woodland clearings. Nearby Grizedale also hosts renowned

Dark Skies events and observatory experiences.
