Visitors to the Lake District National Park continue to be drawn to the lively twin towns of Bowness and Windermere because each one offers a variety of adjacent activities, amenities, shops, and restaurants to satisfy all interests. Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness offers a choice of boat cruises and boat rental options to Brockhole, Ambleside, and Lakeside (at the southern end of the lake where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated). The Old Laundry Theatre and the World of Beatrix Potter Attraction are separated by 1.5 kilometres. It takes 30 minutes to walk to Orrest Head to take in the breathtaking vista of far-reaching views over the lake and nearby fells, which served as the inspiration for Alfred Wainwright to create his series of renowned guidebooks. The historic villages of Grasmere, Ambleside, and Troutbeck are only a short drive away, while Brockhole, which provides high wire tree top activities, is three miles away. For those with greater energy, marine resorts near the lake offer a range of watersports. With easy access to attractions like the stunning Langdales, Beatrix Potter's Hill Top House at Far Sawrey, Coniston, Grizedale Forest Park with its delightful walks and famous outdoor sculptures, mountain biking and "Go-Ape" adventure park, Ullswater, Kendal, and Keswick, stone circles, Roman forts, and England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike, the area is perfectly situated for exploring everything this region has to offer.

Would still return as it's a lovely experience on the edge of the lake and 5 minutes walk from Bowness.

The views are spectacular and the size of the lodge brilliant. The boot room was very handy and the walk in wardrobe great for storage. Lovely and clean upon arrival and everything you could need in there to use. Not having keys for either of the patio doors was fine in the colder weather but would put us off booking in the warmer months and we like others did feel it was a fire hazard. A superb holiday though. Thank you.

My only criticism would be that we couldn’t get either of the can opener’s to work and that we had terrible problems with the tv, this may have been down to signal but it did cause some issues. Maybe would be helpful for some information regarding how the tv works best. The lodge was far better than we expected and is somewhere we will definitely be coming back to.
