Hollybush Cottage sleeps four and is located on the outskirts of Windermere, in a ideal setting where you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the surrounding area, yet only a short drive from the many facilities of Windermere.
Accommodation
Heaning Barn is a charming traditional 19th century stone-built Lakeland barn which has been skilfully converted into 4 comfortable and spacious cottages. Situated down a long private driveway, the barn enjoys an idyllic rural location in the tranquil hamlet of Heaning with many walks and cycling routes from the door. The cottages are just over a mile from the heart of bustling Windermere village with its many shops, restaurants, galleries and local pubs, and have easy access to the M6 (14 miles), making them ideal for couples and families who wish to explore the delights of the south and central Lake District at any time of the year.
These lovely cottages are individually furnished and decorated to a high standard with all the mod cons including satellite Freeview. The courtyard garden with its separate seating for each cottage is a peaceful place to relax and unwind when you are not exploring the many delights the Lake District has to offer. The cottages provide an ideal venue for family get-togethers of up to 10 people where families and friends wish to holiday together but retain the privacy of their own cottage.
Hollybush Barn is centrally heated and comprises:
Upper ground floor: Lounge with TV, DVD player and electric coal effect stove.
Dining/kitchen with electric double oven, fridge/freezer, halogen hob, dishwasher and microwave.
Lower ground floor: Double bedroom
Twin bedroom.
Bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin and WC.
All electric and bed linen and towels included.
Cot and highchair available.
Wi-fi available. (Please note connection isn't always guaranteed due to the rural location and signal strength in the area)
1 private parking space.
To the front of the cottages is a pretty courtyard style garden where each cottage has an individual seating area with garden furniture.
Facilities in the grounds include a secure bicycle store and a laundry with washing machine and tumble dryer for exclusive use of guests.

Beautiful,charming location convenient for Windermere and Bowness. Facilities were excellent and the cottage was well equipped with homely touches which made us feel at home away from home and not want to leave. Thoroughly clean and spacious we had a lovely stay and would defintely return and recommend to others. Lovely touches throughout with a lovely welcome card and gift on arrival. Also very accommodating of our additional requests.

The cottage is in a great location for exploring the Lake District, we both thoroughly enjoyed our visit despite mostly bad weather! The cottage itself is well equipped with everything we needed. It is a nice old stone barn conversion and feels spacious and comfortable. Our one drawback are the mattresses that all badly need replacing, not a good nights rest.

This is the second time we have stayed at Hollybush Barn in 2 years and it really is a beautiful cottage in a perfect location. You can walk into Windermere with ease as it is only 1 mile away and there are fantastic places to go off on your bicycles too. The cottage has a home from home feeling with all the amenities you could think of, it is so incredibly clean and really comfortable. It has beautiful gardens to sit out in and enjoy alfresco dining and so peaceful/tranquil that you are guarenteed to have good nights sleep. We celebrated our 2nd Wedding anniversary whilst we were at the cottage and when we checked in there was a bottle of champagne chilling in the fridge which the owners had left for us, touches like that really made our weekend away special. We wouldn't look at booking any another cottage and will most definitely be returning to Hollybush Barn again, it is everything and more that you would want for a holiday away in the Lake District and I would most definitely recommend it for couples, families, groups of friends and individuals of all ages.
