Outside, there is a charming orchard to enjoy this idyllic spot, which is shared with both the owners and their chickens. The hamlet of Nibthwaite, is just 1.5 miles from the shores of Coniston Water, and whilst there are footpaths and bridleways in every direction, there are also lots of charming places along the shoreline to simply sit and admire the stunning scenery. The Steam Yacht Gondola gently cruises up and down the lake stopping off at Brantwood, formally the home of John Ruskin, Monk Coniston and Lake Bank - a serene mode of transport in a mesmerising landscape. This comfortable cottage is the ideal destination for a relaxing and romantic Lake District holiday.

The small hamlet of Nibthwaite is situated in the Crake Valley, just a short distance from the shores of Allan Tarn and close to Coniston Water. Coniston Water is one of the most imposing and beautiful English lakes, where to the north of the lake is the pretty village of Coniston.
