The cottage itself is a real home-from-home, and guests will feel at ease as soon as they step into the cosy sitting room with exposed timbers, sumptuous leather sofas and pretty picture window. The ambiance is welcoming, and an afternoon nap will be hard to resist. During the day this room is light and airy, in the evening a place to curl up with a good book or to watch TV with fellow guests. Discretely positioned behind the sitting area is the dining table, and then through to the well-equipped kitchen and access to the outside sitting area. Upstairs are the two delightful bedrooms, both beautifully decorated and far too comfortable. Guests share the modern bathroom with its invigorating power shower over the bath.

The small village of Ings, with the lovely River Gowan running through it, is set just two miles from the popular town of Windermere in the Lake District. There is a selection of walks for you to enjoy in the area and a wonderful local, award-winning pub, the Watermill Inn. The vibrant twin towns of Bowness and Windermere hold enduring appeal for many visitors to the Lake District, both providing a range of attractions, amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. Boat trips are available from Bowness to Ambleside and Lakeside, where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated.
