About this Holiday Cottage

Wistaria Cottage is a traditional Lakeland cottage, one of two set back from the road in the centre of Elterwater, a welcoming village set amidst outstanding scenery in the Langdale Valley.  It was originally a workers cottage, and lies close to the village green with views of the Fells.  The property is only four miles west of the lively market town of Ambleside.  There are excellent places to eat and drink, and a good traditional Co-Operative Store just a short walk away.

Living Space

There is a fully equipped kitchen/dining room with a cooker, a fridge-freezer, a microwave and all essential utensils and crockery.

The lounge is comfortably furnished with traditional Ercol furniture, Freesat TV, a DVD Player and a radio with iPod dock facility.

Heating is by Economy storage heaters, electric radiators and a cosy fire.  A traditional open slate fireplace for log fires is available.

Bedrooms / Bathrooms

The cottage sleeps four in a twin-bedded room and a double bedded room which has a comfortable Victorian brass and iron bed.  There is a modern bathroom with over-bath electric shower.

Other Things to Note

Parking for one vehicle is to the front of the cottage.  Guests can leave their vehicle here and head off walking in the surrounding fells, along the river or dine out at one of the superb inns and eateries in the area.

Pets are welcome by prior arrangement before arrival.

Special to Wistaria Cottage

Wistaria is a charming traditional Lakeland stone cottage with original features such as beamed ceilings retained.  The cottage is warm, comfortable and well equipped.  All bedroom, bathroom and kitchen linen is provided, and towels are available on request for an extra cost.  We service and maintain it ourselves, and meet our visitors on arrival.

Directions

Our postcode is LA22 9HP:  From Ambleside take the A593 to Coniston and Langdale.  At Skelwith Bridge Hotel bear right on to the B5343 signposted Langdale, and continue for about 1.5 miles to Elterwater.  Take the first turning left after the Cattle Grid, signposted Elterwater.  Follow the road through the Common, pass a row of cottages on the left, Wistaria Cottage is the first cottage you reach on the right.
