Large entrance with flagged floor and space for outdoor gear. Upstairs to the Shaker kitchen / dining room with fabulous view, and the modern lounge with wood burning stove, smart TV and Blue Ray DVD, French doors to the furnished balcony. You’ve found an outdoor lovers paradise. Active families will have no need to use their car, walking all day, cosy evenings by the wood burning stove and a short walk to the Good Pub Guide listed Wainwrights Inn. Chapel Stile is located at the head of the valley, only 4 miles from Ambleside and Lake Windermere, and providing superb access to low and high level walks in the Langdale Valley – one of the most photographed landscapes in the Lake District. Chapel Stile village itself has a small shop, a cafe and an acclaimed Lake District country pub, The Wainwrights Inn. Walk further into the Langdale Valley and you'll be surrounded by fantastic views, and a few more notable pubs on the way. You can hike to England's highest tarn or take on the spectacular Jake's Rake ridge as you tick off the famous Langdale Pikes; Harrison Stickle, Pike of Stickle and Loft Crag. The adjacent Wasdale and Borrowdale Valleys bring more superb routes, and both are traditional starting points for an ascent of Scafell Pike. You’ll enjoy a blissfully remote feel, with the comfort of pubs and shops nearby, but will also find Ambleside, Coniston, Hawkshead, Grasmere and Windermere within easy reach.
