About this property

This welcoming apartment boasts fabulous views of the surrounding fells and is perfectly placed for exploring the beautiful Lake District, with an abundance of walks directly from your front door.

The apartment is set within a traditional Lakeland slate building and sleeps four guests, making it perfect for a small family getaway or a walking holiday with friends. Grasmere is in the heart of the Lake District National Park, giving you access to some spectacular walks, including a hike to the summit of Helm Crag (1.5 miles) or a waterside stroll at the lake (0.5 miles). The village has a fascinating literary history, and you can visit the former homes of William Wordsworth, as well as the school where his family taught (which now houses some delicious eateries) and his final resting place at St Oswald s Church. Grasmere is a vibrant village, with a great selection of independent shops. The first floor apartment is accessed via an external mahogany staircase. Once inside, you ll discover a fantastic open plan lounge/kitchen/diner, decorated in a contemporary style with a feature original slate wall. Sink into the sumptuous leather sofas after a day of fell walking, admiring the beautiful views of the River Rothay or relax in front of a film on the Smart TV/DVD. The stunning oak kitchen has everything you need to rustle up a hearty meal, including an electric oven with an induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There s also a washing machine/dryer to deal with any muddy walking gear. A landing and a few steps lead to the bedrooms, the first of which is a spacious king size with high ceilings and peaceful views across the village green to the fells beyond. The room is bathed in natural light thanks to the wooden sash windows and has its own TV for lazy mornings. The en suite bathroom has a bath with shower over, WC and also a handy retractable washing line. The second bedroom is a twin, again with high ceilings, fabulous sash windows and a TV. The room has relaxing rooftop views to the fell of Stone Arthur and an en suite bathroom with bath with shower over and WC. On the landing, you ll find maps and books about the area, as well as a selection of games. Parking is available in the car park adjacent to the building. There is no outdoor space with this property, but with a village green and a multitude of walks from your front door, you won t be short of places to get some fresh air and stretch your legs.
