The village of Chapel Stile is home to the famous Wainwrights Inn, a perfect spot for sipping a well-deserved pint after a day of walking the nearby fells, while there is also an excellent local shop, a café and a great local bus service to take you around the Lakes while your car stays safely parked up at the cottage. Underfell is a walker’s paradise with some of the most acclaimed and dramatic walks in the Lake District available right from the doorstep including the Grasmere Waterfall Walkways and Grasmere Lake, and peaks including Crinkle Crags, High Raise and Pike of Blisco. Follow the river through the majestic Langdale Valley to Dungeon Ghyll and have a bite to eat at one of the two traditional and well-loved pubs here. Explore the charming hamlet of Skelwith Bridge or find excitement in Ambleside, from here hiring a boat or hopping on a Lakes cruise to take you along the gorgeous waters of England’s largest lake, Lake Windermere.
