The property also contains a spacious family bathroom. Private parking is available for two vehicles.

Take Five is a short level stroll into Ambleside’s bustling centre where you can browse outdoor shops, enjoy brunch in a modern cafe and socialise over a few drinks in a traditional Lakeland pub. From Ambleside you can head on foot straight into the beautiful Lakeland fells, take a scenic drive over the dramatic Kirkstone Pass or step aboard a ‘Windermere Steamer’ for a cruise across England's largest lake.

For groups heading to the Lake District to celebrate a special occasion, Take Five provides luxurious accommodation in one of the area’s most desirable settings.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.

Enjoyable seeing all the wildlife around the property when relaxing after a days walking.

! The house had everything we could of hoped for including board games which we forgot to bring with us! The beds are super comfy too. The short stroll into Ambleside with all the pubs & restaurants was great. We loved the location & did a walk to Wansfell pike, waterfalls & Rydal caves. We accidently parked in the wrong spaces as arrived at dusk, in the snow. But moved them once we realised. (Sorry neighbour)!! Thank you :)

However, during our last stay I informed Sykes that the front bell didn’t work - on my second visit it was still broken. The speakers don’t work and because the TV is poor quality and small for such a generous room it’s not a great experience. The house needs a thorough dusting, it’s generally well cleaned but not well dusted. A chocolate bar wrapper behind the sofa in November was still there a month later! The small bedroom mattress cover is horribly stained. The tumble dryer function didn’t work. Only one loo roll per bathroom! This seems so mean especially when you consider this is a premium priced property. However, on the whole it’s a super property, comfortable and well equipped. The views are lovely and it’s beautifully warm. The kitchen is easy to work in, the sofa great quality and despite my few gripes I would book a third time. Attention to a few of the issues would make this place superb.
