Choose from two immaculate bedrooms, with the twin room being perfect for any children or friends, whilst the beautiful king-size bedroom is great for a couple, with both rooms home to high quality oak furnishings and elegant style.

Oakmere’s wonderful location lends itself perfectly to those seeking a leisurely and scenic break in this beautiful location, with a wonderful choice of restaurants, cafés and pubs to choose from, as well as attractions in the town itself. Embark on a walk down to the Ambleside Roman Fort where you can see the 2nd century remains of a fort before continuing on to Borrans Park lying on the shores of Lake Windermere. Visit the quaint 17th century stone house, The Bridge House, which lies on a small bridge crossing the Stock Beck River, before following the river east up to Stock Ghyll Force, a stunning 70ft waterfall surrounded by woodland with a fantastic viewpoint.

Head down to Ambleside Pier and catch a ferry to admire the amazing scenery from the waters of Windermere, stopping at Bowness-on-Windermere to see The World of Beatrix Potter, a popular favourite for all ages displaying the beloved British author’s most loved characters. Head down to Lakeside so you can visit the wonderful Lakes Aquarium, home to an amazing underwater otter tunnel as well as sharks! As well as the many walking, cycling and watersports opportunities available here too, a stay at Oakmere with your loved ones will surely be a memorable one.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
