The cottage was very cosy and its location was perfect, just a short walk into town through beautiful scenery. There is a brilliant park nearby so the location is excellent for those with children. All the main attractions are a short drive away- Hill Top, Wray Castle, Brockhole, Tarn Hows, Beatrix Potter world and Grizedale forest. There is also a pretty walk/cycle from the cottage to Grasmere, which we discovered on the last day. The cinema in town was also perfect for a rainy morning. I’d definitely recommend hiring a motor boat on the lake, which even the children steered! Lunch at the Towerbank Arms in Sawrey is also a must and the Tap House in Ambleside did the most amazing pizza and burgers! The cottage was well equipped and the beds very comfortable. The open fire was just lovely. We did have an issue with the shower that leaked through the ceiling into the downstairs electrics. Maintenance were quick to come and look at it but couldn’t solve the issue immediately. A small thing, but the can opener did not work so we had to borrow one from a neighbour apart from that, we would definitely come and stay again in this wonderful, cosy cottage!

Had everything we needed and we loved it. Nice easy walks into Ambelside (10-12 min) as well as just off a main road for any local drives we chose. We walked to the waterfront (20-25 mins) and enjoyed a Ferry to and from Burness on Windermere. The WIFI was fast enough.
