About this property

0.7 miles from Hawkshead village and 5 miles from Ambleside.

Windermere, Coniston Water, Tarn Hows and Esthwaite Water are less than 5 miles away; Grasmere and Rydal are less than 10miles away. Estcote is a lovely, detached cottage with glorious views of Esthwaite Water and the Esthwaite valley, that is located just outside the charming village of Hawkshead in the Lake District National Park, Cumbria. The cottage can accommodate a family of six and offers easy access to hikes right outside the door as well as the convenience of being just 0.7miles from one of the UK's prettiest villages. Relax in front of the Smart TV and the shimmering flames of the woodburning stove in the beautifully appointed open-plan living area, which features plush sofas and inviting armchairs.

Continue to the newly renovated kitchen after relaxing for a bit, where contemporary units boast quartz worktops and a variety of integrated equipment; your laundry facilities are also located here for extra convenience. Tuck into a scrumptious meal at the dining table while sipping a glass of wine. Why not retire to the snug after dinner and play board games - if you can drag yourself away from the stunning views on offer at the massive picture window! When the sun sets, escape to one of the three luxurious bedrooms, each with its own unique feature wallpaper and matching blinds, and sink into the generously sized beds. One of these has a Kingsize bed and is located on the ground floor (with its own newly renovated en-suite shower room) tucked away for extra privacy. Upstairs, you'll discover super-king beds, each with lovely views of the spectacular surroundings and access to another fantastic and newly renovated shower room. Outside, you'll find a lovely patio where you can relax on the outdoor furniture or step down to the lawns and have a picnic! Close by, in the lovely village of Hawkshead, you may visit one of numerous eateries, including the Queens Head tavern a, along with the Beatrix Potter Gallery, before sailing on or trekking around the nearby Esthwaite Water. Drive to nearby Tarn Hows, Coniston Water or Windermere for some fantastic walks, do the easy hike to Latterbarrow which can be clearly seen from the property's kitchen steps, and wave to your friends back at Estcote.

Why not simply drive over to Keswick for the day (20 miles away) and take in Lakes Grasmere, Thirlmere and Rydal en route before you do the rewarding Catbells hike with its stunning views of Skiddaw and Derwentwater. For a fantastic holiday in the Lake District, look no further than Estcote.

Hawkshead, the charming village, preserves the beauty and character that drew its most renowned inhabitants, William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter, to it. Between the whitewashed 17th century buildings, visitors may explore the abundance of little passageways, thoroughfares, archways, and courtyards. The Beatrix Potter Gallery, which holds an annual rotating exhibition of the famed author's pictures and stories, is one of the village's numerous attractive inns, teashops, guest rooms, and gift shops.

Amazing views from the property of Esthwaite Water.

The house with its thick stone walls remained cool despite the high temperatures. A great house so clean and modern which was much appreciated. We would love to return on our next visit to the Lakes. In the spirit of us loving the property and certainly not complaining could we suggest the following which we feel will add to the comfort/ enjoyment of future guests:- Clothes airer or discreet washing line Larger kitchen bin A small creative (in the space) hanging rail in the en-suite bedroom Board for fruit prep ( the wooden ones are liable to staining) Some more small sharp knives, there was only one A cafetiere for fresh coffee ( we had to order one on Amazon Prime :) ) An external cover for the en-suite extractor as we had lots of flies ( in this room with all windows shut )in the first 24 hours and believe that they came through this open pipe which ought to have said cover on to prevent birds etc from using it as a home ! Thanks so much for letting us stay at your lovely property. Until the next time …

It was spacious and decorated to a high specification. The only thing missing was a mirror in the downstairs bedroom other than that it was perfect.
