About this property

Deer Corner is a gorgeous three-bedroom cottage, formed from part of the original coach house of the prestigious Pullwood Bay Estate which is located on the north-western shore of lake Windermere. The cottage is set at the entrance to the Estate, which is located approximately three miles from Ambleside and Hawkshead and boasts 50 acres of mature woodland, impressive landscaped gardens, half a mile of lake frontage and a private jetty or lakeshore to launch a dinghy or a canoe. This holiday home is ideal for a family or group of couples.

Park up outside the cottage, walk across the patio to the French doors and step into your bright and stylish dining kitchen, with farmhouse style dining table for six and start to imagine lovely family evenings in this welcoming space. Walk into your delightful, dual aspect living room, sit and relax on your sumptuous leather suite and delight at the natural light flooding into room, the co-ordinated soft furnishings and the attractive log burning stove. Walk over to the French doors and look out onto your lovely south facing patio. Your hallway provides ample hanging space for coats and a boot rack. Discover your cheerful ground floor double bedded room and adjacent shower room with a rainfall shower and underfloor heating.

Climb the stairs to find two beautifully designed and tastefully presented bedrooms: a master with king-size crystal and chrome bedstead, a contemporary chair and television, a spacious and bright twin bedroom. You will also find a separate modern bathroom featuring slipper bath and double sized shower cubicle and under floor heating.

Explore the beautiful grounds with roaming deer and interesting birdlife before heading to the shimmering lake, look out for the cormorants on the jetty and, if you are early enough, you might even see the otters. You will have a choice of many wonderful trails from your doorstep, whether it’s a low-level circular route or an adventurous hike up to the high fells. If you fancy an evening meal out without driving the car, why not visit the renowned Drunken Duck Inn which is just over a mile away.

At the end of your exciting day sit on your sunny patio and start to plan your next adventure in this beautiful part of the world.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
