About this property

Want to be pampered in unmatched luxury and unwind in a tranquil setting? This super-stylish, deluxe lodge could just be the holiday home for you. Set in the natural beauty of the Lake District, Beck of Beyond, is one of only five deluxe lodges on an exclusive site, just a five-minute walk to the picturesque village of Hawkshead. It has two-bedrooms, two bathrooms and is ideal for a family or two couples.

Walk up a few steps, leave your outdoor clothing in the useful boot room and start to admire your contemporary lounge with kitchen and dining area. Marvel at the natural light pouring into this dazzling space and take in the lovely oak flooring, attractive wood burning stove and grand vaulted ceiling before relaxing on your sumptuous suite with a favourite drink. Look over to your stylish fitted kitchen, complete with island breakfast bar and anticipate memorable family meals in this convivial space. The whole space has been carefully designed to combine ultramodern and chic with comfort and cosiness. Find your two beautifully presented bedrooms: a master with king size bedroom and en-suite large walk-in rain shower, a twin bedroom which has use of the family bathroom. Walk through one of your two double glass doors onto the spacious veranda and think of alfresco breakfasts, evening drinks and family table games as the sun sets over the breath-taking countryside.

Enjoy a scenic cruise or hire your own boat on Coniston Water or Lake Windermere, each just four miles away. Stroll to Hawkshead and visit the acclaimed Beatrix Potter Museum, run by the National trust. Explore the historic and the beautiful, grade 1 listed village church before visiting Wordsworth’s old school. After all that, relax with a drink in one of village’s excellent cafes or pubs.

From your doorstep, you will have the choice of many superb paths and trails around the local area, as well as being in striking distance of some of the best hill walks in the National Park. Drive four miles to Grizedale to enjoy forest walks or bike rides and to have a go on the Go Ape experience

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.

Beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean, it has everything you need for a relaxing stay in the Lake District. Lovely touches from the owners such as a welcome pack and throws to use when sitting outside on the deck. We thoroughly enjoyed our daily strolls into Hawkshead along the beck which runs immediately behind the property whilst admiring the breath-taking scenery. The setting is exceptionally quiet and peaceful with only 4 other lodges on the site. The secure decking area at the back of the property was great for our dog and all the pubs in the village are dog-friendly. The log burner was an added bonus and certainly made the lodge cosy (though the heating is very efficient so it never felt cold). We loved our stay so much that we have already booked a return visit! Thankyou so much to Jane, Peter, Harry & Jack for a wonderful time. Andy & Sarah Wood

The lodge set in beautiful countryside within walking distance of Hawkshead was cosy and warm and is extremely well appointed. In addition to central heating the log burner was a great addition on a cold snowy Lakes evening. The lodge was spotlessly clean, showers were excellent and all furnishings were of a very high standard. It felt like home from home! A thoughtful guide to the area from the owners provided some lovely walks, a great lunch at the Minstrel’s Gallery and superb fish and chips from the Hawkshead fish and chip shop. We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay and would definitely return.
