Well-appointed with homely furnishings amid charming beams, Anniversary Cottage is an excellent base for friends or families wishing to explore this captivating corner of the Lakes. Step inside to feel the warmth of this welcoming cottage with a sitting room with gas fire, ideal for unwinding in front of after a day of exploring. There is also a well-equipped kitchen to rustle up tasty meals that can be enjoyed at the dining table or outdoors in the back garden at the table and chairs for an alfresco affair with views over Ambleside to Loughrigg. Retire to one of two bedrooms; there is a double or a twin both serviced by a family shower room. Ambleside is a haven for walkers with routes leading directly out of the town to Loughrigg, Wansfell and the Fairfield Horseshoe. For a perfect day why not head out over Loughrigg to Grasmere stopping off at The Grasmere Gingerbread Shop for supplies? Ambleside has something for everyone with a selection of independent shops, pubs and restaurants plus a fantastic cinema with three screens. The Apple Pie Bakery is a great place to pop by for delicious cakes and pastries. Just yards away from this charming holiday home is Whiteplatts Park which has tennis courts, pitch and putt, crazy golf and bowls. At the end of the day, you can return to this fabulous cottage and enjoy a quiet drink on the patio before heading out to one of the superb inns or restaurants to chat about your day. Anniversary Cottage is an excellent dwelling for enjoying the magic of the Lake District all year round.

Ambleside, at the northern end of England's largest lake, Lake Windermere, is a great place to stay while exploring the rest of the central Lakes, including nearby Grasmere and the Langdale Valley. Cruises, boat trips, and watersports on Lake Windermere itself are just some of the things that can be enjoyed here, and the village itself has plenty of shops, restaurants, and pubs to suit any palate. Waterhead's parkland provides beautiful views of the lake and a small beach, and a stroll in the opposite direction along Stock Ghyll through the woods leads to the hypnotic Stock Ghyll Force waterfall. In addition to the lake and the excellent hiking opportunities, Ambleside is well-known for the rushbearing ceremony it holds every year and for the tiny "Bridge House," built in the 17th century and now serving as the National Trust Information Centre.

    The house is cozy and love the pictures on the wall. Parking is made easy with the permits provided once we learned we’re the car parks were. Everything we needed was in the kitchen. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it.
