An absolute fairytale of a cottage, with so many little personal touches. Beautifully decorated for Christmas without a bit of tinsel in sight! Well equipped with all the things you need for a long or short break and designed with an excellent use of the floor space available. Comfortable furniture, warm and cosy. Lots of walks right from the door, so easy to park your car on arrival and not need to use it. If you want to eat out we can recommend The Outgate and The Red Lion in Hawkshead. The birds are a delight to watch in the front garden. The back garden is lovely too and while it was too cold to sit out there for any length of time in December it would be great for children to play in and explore.

We'd stayed at Dancing Beck a number of years ago before our children came along so we knew how beautiful the area and cottage was. This was our first family holiday at the cottage and we'll certainly be back. The children loved it, as did we (again) and were upset to go home. A idyllic location. Situated in an area for peace and quite but only a short walk to the Grizdale forest centre and a short drive to Hawkshead.
