It was a lovely cottage, well equipped to a high standard. We had a few issues with getting the hot water above tepid but when we called the management company, they came very promptly and resolved it. We were disappointed to find that wood was not provided for the fire as was the case in other properties we've rented. We had no advanced warning that we needed to provide our own and could have brought some with us if we had known. A small starter pack would have been appreciated at least. We phoned the supplier suggested and he was away for 2 weeks so had to keep buying small quantities from the local shops. In one sense, a very minor thing which didn't detract from the great holiday experience but thought it was worth mentioning.

Shared parking to side of cottage and a very short walk to the front door. Inside the cottage again tastefully decorated and everything you need for a holiday, kitchen had plenty equipment but lacked in space to store food but moving items out of one of the deep drawers soon remedied that. The fridge albeit working, the freezer door didn’t always shut tight so just be vigilant when closing, again not too much hassle. On arrival no welcome pack except a cleaning pack! basic salt and pepper would be nice. There is an outhouse building that houses a washing machine, dryer and small freezer, and plenty storage for bikes or paddle boards, each cottage has its own room and again a very short walk from the cottage front door. Inside the sofa was on the low side difficult to get out of and the small chairs were just small chair, this could be doing with an upgrade on living room furniture. TV freeview and Wi-Fi great. One of the very large cupboards would have been ideal to put your jackets and shoes in, but no hooks. Upstairs very spacious, but main bedroom bed just too soft, the two single beds in the other room were just perfect. The bathroom was lovely, walk in shower and deep bath. No view of the lake but the small garden was perfect and peaceful to enjoy outdoor eating and drinking and gets the sun all day. The area itself is just stunning. We would definitely recommend no 5 Forrest cottage, with a few tweaks one of the best cottages we have stayed in.
