Snaptrip says

Barn End is a cosy and well-equipped property in a picturesque village, perfect for walking and cycling. Guests appreciate the property's charm, modern kitchen and bathroom, and the convenience of a local pub. While some guests mention issues with cleanliness and the comfort of the bed, the location and the overall experience are highly regarded.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Cleanliness has received mixed feedback. Several guests have noted the property could benefit from a more thorough cleaning, mentioning cobwebs and dust. However, others have found it to be clean and well-maintained, leading to a slightly above-average score.

The location is consistently praised for its beauty, quiet village setting, and proximity to local sights and walks. The presence of a nearby pub adds to the appeal, although its temporary closure has been noted. The location's charm offsets the comments about road noise.

Comfort has been a point of contention among guests, with several complaints about the bed's mattress. Despite this, some guests found the bed comfortable, and the cosy nature of the property was appreciated. The mixed reviews result in a moderate score.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen, modern amenities, and the inclusion of a log burner. However, some guests have reported maintenance issues such as problems with the front door and hot water, leading to a good but not excellent score.

There is insufficient information to accurately score thoughtfulness. While a bottle of wine was appreciated by a guest, there is no consistent mention of gifts or extra touches that would indicate a pattern of thoughtfulness. Therefore, this score is set to null.

Small but big enough for our needs. Bed was comfortable so has obviously been changed after comments in previous reviews so thank you. A small coffee table would be useful to put your drinks on as it’s either floor or windowsill. The biggest issue was the front door, as it is swollen and is hard to shut and the handle is loose, but it’s an easy fix. The windows are only single glazed so the traffic can be a bit noisy so may bother some people. We did book barn end as the pub is dog friendly and is literally a 2 minute walk, we prefer not to drive of an evening for a drink but it was closed and although that’s out of your control maybe it’s not worth mentioning it in the listing until it reopens. But overall a lovely stay and in an ideal place for all popular tourist areas without being right in it the thick of it. Would stay again

Well appointed, spotless with all the mod cons you could wish for. We had a 4x4 which fitted fine in the parking space. Yes the pub is currently shut but Conniston, Ambleside and Hawkshead are only a few minutes drive away. Cars do drive past on the road, but considering it was mid term not many and very quiet after 6pm.

Unfortunately the Outgate Inn is currently closed which would of been great if opened as so near the property. We did have an issue with the hot water in kitchen and bathroom sink. Maintenance did come out it was ok for a day but didn't work again,we just boiled a kettle so not a great problem for us. We found the bed comfortable after reading some of the reviews we were worried however it was ok for us. It would be good to have a small clothes airer. (Just a suggestion). The property is in a great location for walking. Our dog loved it as did we.
