Eskdale Green, a small village in the Lake District, is home to a few cottages, farm houses, and a number of excellent traditional English pubs that serve amazing food. Scafell - England's highest peak, Great Gable, Hard Knott, Harter Fell, and Muncaster Fell are just some of the nearby peaks that can be seen from this great location, while the nearby valleys of Eskdale, Wasdale, Ennerdale, and Dunnerdale offer breath-taking and ever-changing scenery throughout the year. The valley is unique in the Lake District because it lacks its own lake, despite the presence of several tarns jutting out of the valley walls. In addition to Muncaster Castle and the World Owl Centre, there is a miniature railway running from Ravenglass to Eskdale, which is one of the most picturesque train rides you can imagine. Among the many well-known landmarks in this stunning area are the beautiful Wastwater, the country's deepest lake, and St Olaf's, the country's smallest church. This magnificent location will keep visitors coming back time and time again.

The apartment was ideal for what we needed and the staff friendly and helpful. We self catered so didn't eat in the pub but did enjoy the beers. Superb walking/exploring for all ages
