For a spot of nostalgia visit the traditional Royalty Cinema, where you can view the latest movies, or listen to the Wurlitzer theatre pipe organ from a bygone era, which can be heard in concert or alongside a silent movie. Further afield is the town of Kendal with its castle ruins, museums and shopping, whilst Ambleside’s bustling town centre is just a short drive. Grizedale Forest is not to be missed with its excellent walking and mountain biking trails as well as high tree-top adventure at Go Ape.
