Once upon a time it was the old dairy to the former manor 'The Croft' set just behind the cottage, originally built around 1830 for a wealthy Liverpool sugar merchant.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at The Old Dairy. Everything was as described on the website, if not better. The place was very clean and comfortable, with everything you need for the perfect break. The private garden across the road was stunning with fabulous views....due to glorious weather, we were able to relax in the garden with a bottle of prosecco after a day of walking. Would highly recommend and we would definitely stay again!

The location of the property is perfect, 15 minute stroll into Ambleside allows for plenty of choice of places to eat, and shops a plenty. The cottage is wonderful, just the right amount of space for two to enjoy the cozy, comfortable cottage after a long days walking. Everything you need is supplied, and of a very high standard, I would very much recommend the Old Dairy to everyone.
