The second day - Saturday the heating broke when on the Monday we eventually contacted the owners. They seemed to know that the accommodation had a heating fault. We were moved - but we had to do it all ourselves, food, clothes etc etc. we were offered no help and it took at least most of the day from our stay. Not even a new welcome pack or indeed a part of one. Very disappointing - the size of the bed in the Gilson is smaller than that in Frost - nor is there a bath,

A beautiful hamper of goodies was left for us and the table set with crockery and glasses, all ready for us. Everything that could be done, was done for our comfort and enjoyment. I would highly recommend this company. We had a wonderful stay. Thank You.

Easy access to Bowness via ferry (but if you go on foot you could be stranded on wrong side of the lake in adverse conditions. It stops if too windy). Did not have any problems with ferry traffic blocking the car parking as previous comments suggested - probably because our stay was mid September. All-in-all a nice break at Far Sawrey.
