Named after Winifred Frost, a fish biologist and known for her contribution to the FBA, this superb cottage has an-open plan living area with patio doors opening out to a private balcony over Windermere. Accompanying this is a luxury bedroom with a super king-size double bed, making this a perfect retreat to return to after exploring the area of the Lake District. About the owner - Founded in 1929, The Freshwater Biological Association (FBA) is a thriving membership association, independent scientific organisation and a registered charity. The FBA promote freshwater science through a number of ways, such as innovative research, science projects, training courses and workshops, maintained specialist scientific facilities, national and international scientific meetings and publications.

No correct bedding available for two single beds and nothing delivered until next day. No hot water or heating on second day as internal boiler failed then again on penultimate day when main boiler failed. Both corrected fairly quickly.

You were aware that the heating wasn't working, It was us who had to contact you on to arrange for heaters to be delivered. We were told that an engineer would call on the Monday..they never did. We had contact again and were told you would let us know what was happening...we never heard back. Not impressed with the service..this was our third time we stayed but did it spoil our break.
