Guests have reported varying levels of cleanliness, with some finding the property not up to standard upon arrival, mentioning dust and pet hairs. However, others have described the property as clean and well-maintained, indicating an inconsistency in cleaning standards.

The location is highly praised for being close to Ambleside, Lake Windermere, and local attractions. The convenience for walking and the proximity to amenities are frequently mentioned as positives, despite some noting the presence of road noise.

Many guests find the beds very comfortable and the living space large and cosy, particularly highlighting the underfloor heating. Some guests, however, have suggested improvements to bedding and have reported issues with heat management.

The property is well-furnished with a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable furniture. Some guests have encountered minor issues with appliances and garden furniture, suggesting a need for better maintenance and updates.

We loved staying there as our first family trip to The Lake District. The only slight disappointment we had was the lack of central heating. The underfloor heating is OK, but once you left the lounge and the log burning stove, it was chilly in the bedrooms. Probably the time of year and my fault for not being able to work out the myriad of possible settings for heating and water and it far from ruined our stay. Thanks for everything! We will come back in the summer

It is a brilliant place. The location is excellent close to Waterhead to get on the boats and Ambleside. The cottage is just perfect for us and the dog. Thanks to the owner for renting it out. We would have booked again same time next year but unfortunately it is now too expensive for us. It has gone up alot. So we will be finding somewhere else. Thanks.
