Visit the stunning Aira Force waterfall (12 miles) and wander the family-friendly trails before heading back to the cosy cottage to unwind.
Whether you’re cooking up a storm in the kitchen or snuggling up in the lounge, everyone will find their place here. The stylish dining area is a great space to enjoy sociable meals, while stylish neutral decor and exposed beams in the lounge make it a cosy place to relax in; curl up on the sofa in front of the wood burner with a good book, or watch a box set on the Smart TV. Head up the stairs to a first-floor snug area with an armchair to sit and look out across the fields or move through to the bedrooms; hide away in the secret snug on the mezzanine level in the twin room and stargaze through the Velux window when night falls.
Head off for a ride on the Ullswater Steamers (13.5 miles), where you’re bound to see a host of wildlife among ancient woodland and fells. Jump on one of the family-friendly trails at Whinlatter Forest (22 miles) and learn about the wildlife or take a treetop adventure at Go Ape on site. Take a ride on the South Tynedale Railway (20 miles) through the beautiful South Tyne Valley and Pennine scenery or take a hike on the Pennine Way from the historic town of Alston (21.5 miles).
