Whitbarrow is the perfect base for families or a group of couples who wish to holiday together whilst enjoying there own privacy. The cottage is situated in an ideal location with free lesiure facilities including swimming pool, gym, bar and also has its own restaurant on site.
Situated in the foothills of Blencathra Fell, close to Greystoke, and only a ten minute drive to Keswick or Penrith. Whitbarrow Village provides a friendly family ambiance, combined with quality accommodation. Whitbarrow village was originally converted from an 18th century Cumbrian Farm known as Whitbarrow Hall and now has everything to entertain the whole family throughout your stay. The outstanding leisure centre features a friendly bar and a la carte restaurant plus downstairs you will find a heated indoor swimming pool, spa bath, sauna and Holistic Therapy treatment centre, fully equipped gym and table tennis. Within the village you will also find a 18 hole crazy golf course, 9 hole putting green, giant outdoor draughts/chess board, children’s adventure play area, mini football area and laundry room.
Winding between the stone farm buildings you will find cobbled streets, overlooked by the clock tower, paths leading to flower filled courtyards and lawned areas. The reception provides DVD rental, tourist information service and an internet station. In all Whitbarrow Village provides everything to make your stay a memorable one no matter what time of year you holiday.

The cottage is very well equipped, modern, centrally heated and comprises:-

Master double bedroom has an en-suite shower room with WC, balcony with outside furniture.

All gas, electric, bed linen and towels provided.

We found our accomodation to be exactly as describe and was not disappointed. The village itself is off the beaten track but to be honest we don't like being in the busy parts. Most places to visit are in easy reach by car. The pool facilities were complimentary and was very pleasant. We was slightly disappointed to have to pay for the laundry cleaning of a bedsheet which one of our toddlers had an accident on and found a discrepency with the staffs cost to the price within the welcome pack. Otherwise we found the staff helpful and kind. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Whitbarrow Village was a lovely relaxing place to stay, the cottage was very nice as well and well equipped for all your needs for self catering. The one down side was that there wasn't a little shop on site to buy a newspaper or a few grocery goods. Would definitely go back.
