This charming cottage has been lovingly refurbished with an eye to comfort and fine style and retains a homey charisma and many original features. The cottage sleeps four people and is ideal for couples, small families and friends.
This property is in the heart of Keswick yet has private parking, a garden and a peaceful aspect, being situated down one of the quieter roads of the popular market town. The town centre is just a minute’s walk away and boasts plenty of pubs, cafes and restaurants, as well as outdoor shops and interesting independent shops.
Derwentwater is a 10-minute walk away and here you can hire rowing boats, take a trip on the launch or explore the many lakeshore paths. Keswick is surrounded by both high and low fells: Skiddaw, Latrigg, the Coledale Horseshoe, Catbells and Walla Crag are our favourites, and all can be easily reached from your front door! If you want to explore the country lanes by bike, there are three cycle rentals in Keswick!
As well as being known as the ‘Adventure Capital of England’, Keswick also hosts a variety of events and festivals: there is the Film Festival in February, Words by the Water in March, the Jazz Festival in May, the Mountain Festival also in May, and the Beer Festival in June. And this is just a small selection of what goes on in the area throughout the year! Whenever your visit, this cottage is perfectly placed for all the excitement and interesting goings on!
Steps lead from road level to the front door and hallway, which in turn leads to the open plan sitting room area with its comfortable seating, electric fire, 42' Freeview Smart TV, DVD player, unlimited broadband and beautiful pictures of the Lake District.
The kitchen area is fully equipped with electric oven and four-ring electric hob, microwave, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and plenty of storage space. There is also a dining table in this open plan area that comfortably sits four people.
Upstairs, the landing leads to two bedrooms. The first is a lovely and light, with modern decor and a comfortable king-size bed. The second has two single beds and is also light, elegant and contemporary. The bathroom has a bath, separate shower, WC, sink and heated towel rail.
To the rear of the cottage there is a garden with sitting out area, accessed by stone steps, which catches the evening sun. It's the perfect place for a glass of wine after a day on the fells! (Please note: there is a significant difference of level in the garden and young children should not be left unsupervised.)
