Arrival Information: Darwin Escapes check-in’s are available from 16:00. If you are likely to arrive later than 18:00, please call our resort reception team on 01768 776 510 to let them know.
Please note any guests under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Departure Information: Check out time is at 10:00am on the day of your departure. Darwin Escapes kindly ask that you leave your accommodation as you found it.
Hot Tub Information: Please note due to water change and maintenance your hot tub may not be up to the correct temperature when you first arrive. By using the hot tub you are agreeing to Darwin Escapes’ terms and conditions, and agreeing that you have read their hot tub safety information, found here.
Travel Cot Hire: You can request a travel cot on your booking. Please note you must bring your own mattress and bedding for the cot. Please note travel costs may not fit in double/master bedrooms in selected units, please call reception on 01768 776 510 for more information if a cot is needed.
Pets: Please make sure that you have included your pet in your booking. If your pet is not included, Darwin Escapes will either relocate you to a pet-friendly lodge, if there is one available, or holds the right to refuse access to the resort. You may be liable for any charges incurred.
Resort Facilities: Keswick Reach’s facilities are currently working at a reduced capacity and pre-booking for any spa treatments or food at the restaurant is essential. Please book by calling the resort reception on 01768 776 510. The gym can be used by people over 16 years old only. Young adults between the ages of 16 - 18 must be accompanied by an adult when in the gym. You can access the gym by visiting reception, you may be asked for a fully refundable deposit.

Travel cot hire: You can request a travel cot on your booking. Please note, there is no bedding provided and the mattresses are folding, thin and firm and is provided by manufacturer. We require you to follow the safety instructions, which state not to use a secondary mattress or any padded bedding such as pillows or quilts. You must bring your own bedding (e.g infant sleep bags). Please contact reception for mattress dimensions should you require. For further information on safe sleeping in travel cots please refer to information available from sites such as the Lullaby Trust. Important travel COT information Manufacturers instructions are provided at the point of issue and cots are cleaned in line with these after each use. Please also be aware that travel cots may not fit in double/master bedrooms in selected units, please call reception on 01768 776 510 for more information if a cot is needed.
Bathrobes: Bathrobes are available to hire for £5.00 per bathrobe. Please note: Bathrobes are only available on a request basis when you arrive at the park.
Hot Tubs in Premier Accommodation: Please be aware the hot tub may not be up to temperature when you first arrive due to water change and maintenance.
Additional Information: Please note that BBQ’s are not allowed on site due to the location and wildlife on site.

Dear Guests,We are writing to inform you about an upcoming scheduled power outage on the 3rd February 2026 between 9:00am – 12:30PM. This outage is part of essential infrastructure upgrades being carried out by the National Grid. As a result, please be advised that your accommodation will be without power. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and want to assure you that our onsite team will be available throughout the outage to manage the situation and ensure that when power is restored, disruptions to your stay will be kept to an absolute minimum. Our team is here to ensure your experience remains as pleasant and uninterrupted as possible. Thank you for your cooperation. We look forward to continuing to provide you with a wonderful stay.

Here’s your final version with the closing sentence refined for clarity and impact:WritingAlthough Lodge 88 is set in a beautiful location next to the pond and the layout itself is well designed, the overall standard of maintenance and care was extremely poor.It is particularly disappointing that issues highlighted in previous reviews have clearly been ignored by management, pointing to a consistent lack of oversight and accountability.The condition of the furnishings was unacceptable. An armchair was both ripped and heavily stained and had to be replaced immediately—something that should never have been missed prior to guest arrival. Even more concerning was the dishwasher, which was completely unusable due to severely rusted plate racks, with rust flaking off whenever they were touched. Although it was eventually replaced, this is a basic hygiene issue and the appliance should never have been left in such a condition.Further issues only reinforced the lack of care: plastic caps covering the toilet seat fixings were missing, leaving rusty bolts exposed; there was visible mould on the shower tray sealant; and the fridge door failed to seal properly due to maladjusted hinges. The bedroom carpet was heavily stained in places; the chrome bath plug hole was rusted and fitted with a temporary rubber plug; and the shower door was missing its handle. The general décor was also tired and in clear need of refurbishment.These are not minor oversights but obvious and long-standing problems that should have been identified and resolved by both cleaning staff and routine management inspections. The failure to address such visible defects suggests a serious and ongoing lapse in quality control.This was our fourth visit to Keswick Retreat, but unfortunately we are now reluctant to return, having paid full price for a substandard lodge and receiving no partial refund.

Lovely spacious lodge with everything you need! However the main lights in the lounge area and main bedroom didnt work, the beds weren't very comfortable as they make alot of noise, even when just turning over in the night. My son also said his bed wasnt comfortable and noisy. But overall it was a nice lodge, clean and well equipped.
