Boasting a Smart TV, an enclosed patio, and an open-plan layout ideal for families, friends and their four-legged companion wanting to explore the nearby Lake District National Park. Pull up and park the car and ascend the stairs of your new Cumbrian abode. Enter to the sitting area where the electric fire flickers, choose a seat and flick on the Smart TV to unwind after your outdoor adventures. When hunger strikes, head to the kitchen and fire up the gas hob, utilise this social space and play your feel-good playlist from the TV in the sitting area as you whip up a feast. Serve your culinary delights at the dining table set for four guests as you share stories and plans from your holiday. The double room has Jack-and-Jill access to the shower room, ensuring a swift start to the day and a TV for those needed lie-ins. A separate cloakroom completes the interior of this single-storey abode. Outside, there is a private patio with furniture to enjoy dining alfresco, enjoy a brew in the morning and take advantage of the tranquil site with views over the Cumbrian fells. Pack your doggy treats and head to Hope Park for a picturesque stroll, glide through the manicured gardens, have a round of mini golf and pack a picnic to enjoy after your trail. For some family fun, head to Puzzling Place, snap some pics of the optical illusions and explore the fun exhibits, then end the trip by browsing the gift shop for a souvenir for the day. History buffs will enjoy a trip to Castlerigg Stone Circle, a 5000-year-old landmark offering panoramic vistas with cute sheep grazing nearby. No. 29 Wyndham Hall is a tranquil base in Cumbria.
The small country market town of Cockermouth is situated in the quiet north-western part of the Lake District, a largely undiscovered and unspoilt area, yet only 13 miles from Keswick. The town is famous as the birthplace of both William Wordsworth and Fletcher Christian (of Mutiny on the Bounty fame) and Wordsworth’s Georgian family home, on the main street, is now a popular visitor attraction, owned by the National Trust. Cockermouth offers a good variety of shops, pubs and places to eat, but (of course) the main attraction of the area is the beautiful scenery and excellent walking in the northern lakes – Bassenthwaite Lake, Ennerdale Water and Derwent Water.
