Guests say

Holly Cottage is consistently praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and well-equipped kitchen. Its proximity to Cockermouth town centre and local amenities is appreciated, as is the cosy log burner. While parking can be challenging, the cottage's warm and inviting atmosphere, along with its convenient location for exploring the northern lakes, makes it a highly recommended stay.

Guests frequently commend the cottage for its exceptional cleanliness, noting it as very clean and tidy, which indicates a high standard of hygiene maintained at the property.

The location is well-regarded due to its proximity to the town centre, pubs, and supermarkets, as well as being a suitable base for exploring the northern lakes. Some concerns about parking and road noise slightly affect the score.

Comfort is highlighted with mentions of comfortable beds and a cosy atmosphere. The spaciousness for small groups and the presence of a log burner contribute to a comfortable experience, despite minor issues with Wi-Fi coverage and heating.

Facilities are generally praised, especially the well-equipped kitchen and efficient shower. However, points are deducted for maintenance issues like the washing line and temperamental heating, as well as the suggestion for Wi-Fi boosters.

There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess this category. Therefore, the score is set to null.

Lovely cottage. Clean and comfortable. Everything you need for cooking etc. Bathroom lovely. Beds nice and comfortable. Two large bedrooms. Nice and warm too. Although on a busy road there was little noise. Available parking outside the cottage but it can be busy after people have finished work. This didn't impact our stay as we left the car parked for the duration and walked/used public transport. All in all a very enjoyable stay and would definitely return.

Lovely little house, quiet area even though on a main road. House was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Only cons we found was we couldnt use the washing line as when hanging the clothes the line would drop, there were no spare rubbish bags for us to change the bin during our stay. The heating was temperamental at times and the parking wasnt great. But apart from that, it was cozy, and walking distance to pubs, supermarkets and high street. Would recommend and would stay again.
