This stunning single-story cottage is tucked away in its courtyard with a patio garden, shrubs and seating, a real suntrap, and a great base from which to explore the Northern Lakes. This beautiful cottage has been carefully renovated to provide a high-quality guest experience. The attention to detail is evident from the moment you arrive.
You’re greeted by a spacious, open-plan living room, kitchen, and dining room. Plenty of easy seating, dining space, and a high-spec kitchen with a contemporary feel. Velux windows on the roof provide lots of daylight. The bedroom features a double bed, plenty of hanging and storage space and there’s a double sofa bed in the living room too. You have access to a smart TV in the living room and bedroom and a bathroom featuring a large walk-in shower and heated towel rail.
The cockermouth town centre, the birthplace of William Wordsworth, is just a short walk from the property. Your nearest supermarket is a 5-minute walk, as are a couple of pubs serving great food and local cask ales. The main town centre is also easily reached on foot.
Cockermouth is a thriving market town full of hidden surprises at every turn. It boasts a great selection of pubs, quaint restaurants, micro-breweries, local craft shops, independent coffee houses, delicatessens, specialty shops, and of course, well-known retailers and branded stores too. If you like culture, Kirkgate Arts shows movies, arts, and drama.
Cockermouth is on the border of the Lake District National Park, so whether you like the rugged adventure of the mountains or the serenity of the seaside, you’ve got the best of both worlds. You’re also within easy reach of some glorious lakes. Take a 5-mile drive to Bassenthwaite Lake at the foot of the Skiddaw range for fantastic walks, woodland, wildlife, and watersports. You’ll also find the Lakes Distillery offering tasting tours as well as the Lake District Wildlife Park just 6 miles away.
The popular town of Keswick is 14 miles away and can be reached in about 20 minutes. For walkers and cyclists, you’ll love the route through Whinlatter Forest Park, or continue down the valley to Buttermere which boasts stunning panoramic scenery.

A hidden gem of a cottage with parking, we loved it.Cockermouth has lots of interesting shops, excellent cafes and pubs and there are interesting walks around the area.It is part of the Lake District, without the crowds and within easy distance to visit all the wonders of the lakes.We hope to go back again next year and we would definitely aim to return to Bumble Cottage

A very charmng cottage with all the amenities to hand , the cottage was beautifully presented and clean . Lovely week in the lakes and a great shout out to the passtere cake shop in the town , which did not help our diet. Will definitely return in the future

Very good location in the centre. Quiet and private as it is in its own courtyard behind a door off the street. Well equipped and great for two. Shops and restaurants are a short walk away. Allocated parking is close by and very useful
