Guests say

Applegarth is a charming, well-equipped cottage in the heart of Cockermouth, praised for its cosy atmosphere, secure garden, and excellent proximity to shops, restaurants, and the Lake District. Guests consistently highlight its dog-friendly features, comfortable beds, and helpful neighbours. While parking arrangements and occasional minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests eager to return.

The majority of guests found the cottage clean and tidy, with several describing it as spotless and well-maintained. However, one review mentioned an unpleasant odour and a need for a deep clean, which slightly lowers the score.

The location is universally praised for its central position in Cockermouth, close to amenities and ideal for exploring the Lake District. The only minor drawback mentioned is the parking being a short walk away.

Guests frequently mention the cottage's cosy, homely feel and comfortable beds. A few reviews note issues with mattress comfort and shower temperature, but overall comfort is rated highly.

The cottage is described as exceptionally well-equipped, with a secure garden, modern appliances, and thoughtful extras like a log burner. Minor maintenance issues (e.g., shower, oven gloves, wardrobe space) are occasionally mentioned but do not detract significantly from the overall impression.

Guests appreciate thoughtful touches such as logs for the fire and a well-stocked kitchen. While some mention a lack of welcome gifts or small items, these are not guaranteed and do not significantly impact the overall experience.

A bit of a faff having to park over the bridge, but otherwise excellent.A pint of milk would have been nice on arrival, but shop was literally 2 minutes walk away.
