The cottage was great but not for us,we found the stairs a challenge and there was no garden for the dog.It was overall very comfortable, just the things mentioned above.

Pickles Barn had everything that we needed for a stres free stay. We met the owners who live next door who were very friendly and unobtrusive and at their recommendation we had a meal at The Sun Inn Basenthwaite which was excellent and also spent an enjoyable evening at Woodlands Country House which is walking distance from the property. It is well situated to explore places such as Keswick, Cockermouth and Carlisle and we would definitely stay there again.

The cottage is very well placed for the lakes - close enough to get to the north lakes but far enough to be quiet and away from the crowds. There are lovely walks from the cottage as well. A lovely spot!
