If you’re craving lake days, Bassenthwaite Lake (0.7 mile) is ideal for gentle walks, wildlife watching, and wild swimming, with options for sailing, rowing, kayaking and canoeing too. If you’re in the mood for some pampering, book yourself a treatment at Armathwaite Hall Spa (1 mile). Or head to the Lakes Distillery (1.5 miles), which serves up whisky, vodka and gin with a side of alpacas.
