A haven for walkers, set out on foot to explore Eskdale, enjoying a paddle and a picnic on the banks of the river Esk along the way. Or for something a little more challenging, take on the mighty Scafell Pike, 11 miles away, England s highest mountain with views that have inspired the likes of Wainwright, Wordsworth and Coleridge. After a tough climb, rest your legs with a trip on the famous Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway a must for anyone visiting this area. Inside, this cosy cabin is warm and welcoming with a sociable open plan layout. Rustle up tasty family meals in the kitchen area, which is fitted with a combination microwave oven, dishwasher, hobs and fridge. Once prepared, dine alfresco or at the farmhouse style table by the door before firing up the wood burner and settling in for a cosy evening on the sofa. Once you ve planned the following day s activities, lose yourselves in your favourite programmes on the Sky TV. This lodge boasts three modest but inviting bedrooms, one double, one twin and one with a set of adult sized bunk beds. The bedrooms share a bathroom with a shower over the bath. With something to keep guests of all ages entertained, the shared facilities include a games room with pool and table tennis table, a playground and pond complete with rafts.
