Stroll through ancient leafy woodland to find a hidden waterfall, looking out for resident red squirrels along the way, or amble around the lake itself to admire views towards Crummock Water and the sea beyond. For supplies, pop into Keswick, 19 miles away, where you will find a host of independent shops and eateries, a vintage cinema and the beautiful Derwentwater. Or stay local and grab a bite to eat at the popular village pub, which offers unpretentious home cooked meals and spectacular mountain views from the beer garden. Brimming with character, this historic property is a retreat from the wilds outside, offering cosy yet spacious accommodation with breathtaking views through almost every window. Also on the ground floor is a handy utility room with an additional fridge/freezer. A twisted stone and timber stairway leads up to the elegant first floor accommodation. A twin room, bunk bed room and double bedroom share a stylish family bathroom with shower over the bath, while a further double bedroom has its own compact shower room and snug with a separate TV perfect for younger members of the party to have separate viewing. Outside, an enclosed patio and lawn boast stunning views down the Loweswater valley: a perfect spot for enjoying a garden picnic on a summer s afternoon. There is ample off road parking.
