The cottage is set in the area of outstanding beauty the Forest of Dean. The Forest of Dean is located within the county of Gloucestershire making it a perfect location to visit Wales, The Cotswold’s, Herefordshire, Cheltenham and Gloucester.

The village itself runs alongside the River Severn and offers holiday makers everything, from a wonderful Italian restaurant, award winning fish & chips, local pubs and the village shop. Within three miles, walk though beautiful countryside, alongside running streams full of local trout, you will find the Dean Heritage Centre, Speech House Nature Trail, Dean Forest Railway and the famous Go Ape for the ultimate tree top adventure.

The Forest of Dean was designed as a National forest park in 1938, the first in England, and offers natural beauty and outdoor leisure activities. You will find everything from horse riding, kayaking, mountain biking and forestry walks all on your door step. Local pubs are only a short walk away from the holiday home in the Forest of Dean.

If you would like to travel out for the day, Cheltenham is 30 minutes away, the elegant regency spa town offers something for everyone of all ages and tastes. With stunning architecture, festivals and events and an abundance of boutique shops, bars, restaurants and entertainment venues throughout the town.

One of the biggest attractions of Cheltenham is the internationally famous horse racing track. The impressive racecourse is the host for the renowned National Hunt held in March also known as Gold Cup week. It is a must if you are visiting the area even if you go to one of the other smaller events held throughout the year.

If you want to venture a little further you will find the Cotswold’s Way rambling paths that snake all the way though the quintessential Cotswold’s villages where you find local county pubs, chocolate box houses and even the odd duck race if you arrive on the right day. Also within driving distance you can visit the great cities of Bath, Cardiff and Bristol.
